5-Star Special Enrollment Period
This enrollment period begins December 8, 2014 and is available to you if you are in a plan that has a Medicare Star rating of less than 5.

  • You can only switch to a 5-star Medicare plan if one is available in your area.
  • You can only use this period to switch to a 5-star Medicare plan one time each year.

Please help us share the news!! Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period for both health and drug plans is:

October 15, 2014 to December 7, 2014

If you are newly eligible for Medicare or in a special enrollment period, please contact the Sage PLUS program.

Aloha and welcome to the Sage PLUS Program website.  We are Hawaii’s State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), a program that offers one-to-one counseling and assistance to people with Medicare and their families.  We provide free counseling and assistance via telephone calls, face to face meetings and public education presentations / programs.

Our certified volunteers may assist you with the following:

  • Counseling to individuals with Medicare, their families, and caregivers on the options and benefits available under Medicare
  • Assistance in comparing and enrolling in most Medicare health and drug plans
  • Present Medicare information to a group of people ( click here to request a group presentation).
