Hawaii SHIP spotlights on our stars, Mary & Jim, who have steered the program with their loyalty, longevity, and life experiences. Our invaluable SHIPMates have contributed countless hours from the days of SAGE PLUS which evolved into SHIP.
Mary has been a counselor for 22 years. She shares her expertise in social security eligibility, disability benefits, and vocational rehabilitation to Medicare beneficiaries as a counselor, and her SHIPMates as one of the program trainers. SHIP is proud to present Mary as a the recipient of the Senior Volunteer Award in 2019.
Jim uses his careers in the computer industry and Judiciary system to devote his energy as an exhibitor, presenter, and counselor to help seniors with health related issues. He received the Senior Volunteer Award, in 2011, in appreciation of his commitment to service.
