Caring for a loved one with dementia can be overwhelming — but now there’s new support available to help families navigate the journey with more confidence and care. The new GUIDE program, Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience, is designed to make a real difference for Hawaii’s kūpuna and their caregivers.
At Hawaii SHIP, we are proud to share this important resource to help families access needed services, training, and support.
The GUIDE program provides comprehensive services for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. Starting July 1, 2025, Straub Clinic and Hospital will be the first provider in Hawaii to offer GUIDE services.
GUIDE includes:
24/7 Dementia Support Line
Always have someone you can call when questions or crises arise.
Personal Care Navigator
A dedicated expert will help you find medical services, community-based programs, and needed support resources.
