What To Do If Your Medicare Card Is Lost, Stolen, or Damaged

If your Medicare card is lost, stolen, or too damaged to use, you can get a new one. Call Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE or log in to your Medicare.gov account to order a replacement. If you get your Medicare through a Medicare Advantage or Part D drug plan, contact your plan to ask for a new card. People who receive Medicare through the Railroad Retirement Board should call the RRB directly.

Always keep copies of your important cards in a safe place, just in case. If your card was stolen, watch your Medicare Summary Notices for any services you did not receive. If something looks wrong, report it right away by calling 1-800-MEDICARE. Your local Senior Medicare Patrol can also help you check for fraud.
